It Sickens Me
Posted on March 1, 2010
It started last Tuesday with a weak cough. That weak cough turned into a strong cough, and by Sunday night my chest ached and my head felt like it was filled with cement. Getting sick sucks. I don't think it is the Pig flu, just a bad cold. I pumped myself full of OTC drugs, practiced time-tested family remedies, and I feel a good bit better tonight. The cat has been terrific during this crisis. She has been so brave. Even though I'm sure she was worried about me, she still managed to eat, drink, and sleep 16 hours a day. What a trooper!

The cat figured you were just trying to get a major hairball out. Get well soon. Excelsior!

I coughed up something, but it wasn’t a hairball. :-) Thanks. Feeling better already. Now where did I leave that catnip?

The best thing you can do for your health is to become a contractor and not get any sick days. Believe me, I get no sick days and I haven’t been healthier. Also, I have a couple home remedies that work nearly everytime. First is the Spicy Won Ton Treatment. I do this the moment I feel any cold-like symptom occur. Basically, get a won ton soup from any Chinese take out joint and tell them you want it very spicy. They will add a oily, red chili sauce to the soup which is some of the hottest stuff around. You want it as spicy as one can tolerate. Also ask them to add raw, minced garlic. Take it home and eat as much of it as you can. Get sweaty doing so. If you have any greens lying around, bok choi or chard is great, add that. When finished, take a time release vitamin C tablet and wash it down with a glas of OJ. Bundle up in sweat pants and shirt and go right to bed. The next morning you’re right as rain.
The second is for stomach ache. If you’re feeling unwell in the gut, drink a can of Coke. Not diet. Not cherry. Regular coke. Works every time.
I know these sound like cliches but they do have merit.
Confined success,
D

Did you ever see the South Park episode where the town is sick from SARS? The remedy was Dayquil, chicken noodle soup, and Sprite. They gave this remedy to the Native Americans…
